Peab was set up in 1959 by two brothers, Erik and Mats Paulsson, who were then aged 16 and 14 respectively.
They began by helping farmers on the Bjäre peninsula with refuse collection and disposal. They also took over Lennart Axelsson’s machine depot and a variety of different jobs began to come their way.
Quite soon they had to take on more people, and caterpillars and trucks were added to the plant they already had.
