Peab expands Varner’s distribution center in Vänersborg

Peab has been commissioned to expand the fashion group Varner’s distribution center at Trestad in Vänersborg. The customer is real estate company M62 Holding and the contract is worth SEK 215 million.

The extension will be 19,000 m2 and contain storage, handling and personnel space. The new logistics center will open up for more jobs and contribute to development in Vänersborg.

“We see good demand for efficient warehouse and logistics facilities in attractive locations and are therefore happy to be able to develop this logistics project. Peab will man the project from our two offices in Trollhättan and Uddevalla so local presence will be a major strength in this project,” says Magnus Wedholm, Assistant Region Manager Peab.

The building will be environmentally certified according to Breeam, level Very good. Sustainability is prioritized and includes setting up solar panels on the roof.

“The purpose of the extension is to increase our capacity to handle growing online shopping and provide better service to our stores. We have worked together with Peab before in Vänersborg and are very happy to have such a large, efficient and flexible partner with local roots in the Trestad area,” says Anders Eriksson, Supply Chain Director at Varner AS.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Construction starts in the fall of 2021 and the target is for the facility to be operational in November 2022.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2021.
