Peab builds Volvomotet in Gothenburg

Peab has been commissioned to build Volvomotet on Hisingsleden in Gothenburg. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 154 million.

The stage Volvomotet is part of the restructuring of the southern section of Hisingsleden to improve safety for all kinds of traffic and increase freight carriage capacity. Rebuilding Volvomotet includes widening a kilometer of Hisingsleden into a four lane road with a center guardrail, a bus lane, an overpass interchange, a roundabout and a new pedestrian and bicycle lane.

“We’re really pleased to contribute to improving traffic safety and passability on yet another section of Hisingsleden. Participating in ensuring road safety in Gothenburg is an important mission for us as community builders and we are proud of it,” says Berth Larsson, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Production of this stage will begin in the autumn of 2021 and continue until the summer of 2024.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2021.
