Peab builds apartments in Åre

Peab has been commissioned to build 42 apartments in three buildings on a mountainside in Åre. The customer is Skiab Invest AB and the contract is worth SEK 109 million.

The apartments will make up the tenant-owner association Sadelbyn 7 and the three buildings will be located right next to Åre Björnen in the Sadel area. The apartment buildings will be four to five stories and thereby the highest in the area. They are designed to blend into the surrounding mountain environment and offer modern homes with an open plan layout. Peab already has an ongoing project in Åre with Sadelbyn 5-6.

“We’re happy for the opportunity to continue to develop Åre and to do it together with Skiab. This is a growing community and it feels good to contribute to this positive development with more housing. By collaborating with our civil engineering colleagues, our subcontractors and our suppliers we can use local resources and competence to make this project locally produced,” says Fredrik Timan, Region Manager Peab.

Sadelbyn is strategically located for ski-in/ski-out with skiing practically right outside the front door. Our experience from previous projects together with Peab is excellent and we look forward to continuing to cultivate the area,” says Per Ahlqvist, order representative for BRF Sadelbyn 7 and Project Manager for Skiab Invest AB.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction starts in June 2021 and occupation is planned for November 2022.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2021.
