Peab builds ice skating rink in Landskrona

Peab has been commissioned to build an ice skating rink in Landskrona. The customer is Landskrona City and the contract is worth SEK 161 million.

The new ice skating rink will be located in the area Landskrona IP and will comprise two standard-sized ice skating rinks, one of which will be a public arena with stands for 500 spectators and the other will be a practice rink. The total area is 7,400 m2 and the building will be built according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.

“This project is an important investment for the future of Landskrona residents and we’re proud to contribute with our expertise. The ice skating rink will be a meeting place for both the general public and sports clubs, contributing to people’s health and leisure activities. In short, this is a good example of local community building,” says Olle Olsson, Region Manager Peab.

“The ice skating rink is one part of the largest development project ever in Landskrona where we’re investing close to a billion Swedish kronas in health and sports. Based on the trend we currently see in society, where people are becoming physically less active, the Karlsund Project is badly needed. Through it we’re investing in a healthier society,” says Torkild Strandberg, Chairman of the Municipal Board in Landskrona.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in the spring of 2023 and Peab is planning to turn it over in the summer of 2024.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2022.
