Peab builds new swimming pool facility in Leknes

Peab has been commissioned to build a new swimming pool facility in Leknes. The customer is Vestvågøy Municipality and the contract is worth NOK 262 million.

The swimming pool facility project entails an addition of 2,500 m2 as well as rebuilding the existing building of 2,300 m2. The new addition will contain a competition pool, training and therapy pool, diving tower, slide and a wellness area with a jacuzzi, cold pool and sauna. A new cloakroom and lobby will built into the original swimming pool building from 1974.

“The new swimming pool facility will be a community arena with special offers, activities and recreation opportunities for people of all ages. It will be a central meeting place for the benefit of everyone in the municipality and we look forward to continuing to work with Peab,” says Ove Berg, Project Manager for Vestvågøy Municipality.

“We’re very happy to build this swimming pool facility. It will contribute to the quality of life of Vestvågøy residents and at the same time have a ripple effect on other industries in the municipality,” says Trygve Nilsen, District Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will start immediately and the project is expected to be completed in December 2025.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2023.
