Peab rebuilds Värnamo Hospital

Peab has been commissioned to rebuild and add on to Värnamo Hospital. The customer is Regionsfastigheter in Jönköping County and the contract is worth SEK 214 million.

The project entails the new construction of Building 21 at Värnamo Hospital. The new building will contain premises for the psychiatric clinic, which will include a ward with 24/7 care, an on-call and addiction clinic, administration offices and personnel rooms. Building 21 will be connected to the existing Building 09 through a new passageway, which will entail rebuilding certain areas in Building 09.

The SundaHus Material Data system will be used in the project to make aware material choices to ensure a non-toxic and sustainable building.

“We’re very happy and proud to once more be part of developing Värnamo Hospital. We’ve previously built new surgical rooms, a sterile center and intensive care unit at the hospital and now we look forward to further building to meet future healthcare needs and demands,” says Anders Bergeling, Region Manager Peab.

“Regionsfastigheter looks forward to continuing to work with the organization we’re well acquainted with from previous projects. It’s an assurance that we’ll work well together and achieve a good outcome,” says Thomas Svärd, Project Manager at Regionsfastigheter.

The project is a traditional contract. Construction will start in November 2023 and the project is expected to be completed in February 2026.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2023.
