Peab builds New Kristine Hall in Falun

Peab has been commissioned to rebuild Kristine Hall, Dala Sinfonietta’s concert hall, in Falun. The customer is Falun Municipality and the contract is worth SEK 227 million.

The New Kristine Hall will have a better concert hall with good acoustics suited to classical music and also provide a better work environment for its personnel. Region Dalarna will rent the premises in the New Kristine Hall. The renovation will give Musik i Dalarna one home for all its activities, which provides Dala Sinfonietta with a better platform.

“As a Falun resident I’m proud to see Kristine Hall transformed into a modern and functional concert hall. This project will contribute to lifting Dalarna as a cultural destination and make the county’s rich music tradition accessible to a broader public,” says councilor Liza Lundberg.

“We’re very happy at Peab to be entrusted with rebuilding Kristine Hall. For us it’s inspiring to create something good and vital for the arts in Dalarna, and that we as community builders contribute to local development in Falun. I look forward to this project with its exciting, sustainable and well thought out solutions,” says Fredrik Timan, Region Manager Peab.

The project will begin any day now and is expected to be completed in the first quarter 2027.

The project was order registered in the first quarter 2024.
