Peab renovates apartment buildings in Örebro

Peab has been commissioned to carry out an extensive renovation of eight apartment buildings in Örebro. The customer is ÖrebroBostäder AB (ÖBO) and the contract is worth SEK 160 million.

The project comprises a total of 192 apartments with apartments ranging from one to four rooms and a kitchen. The buildings have three residential floors and a basement. The renovation includes several important measures to improve both the exterior and interior of the buildings. Outside windows, facade panels and entrances will be updated. In addition, external wiring and culverts will be partially replaced. Inside, the apartments will get new finishes, new furnishings in kitchens and bathrooms as well as new technical installations. The basement, stairwells and technical rooms will also be renovated.

"We've been giving the popular 1950s houses in the Norrby area a facelift, both inside and out over several years. We want to provide a modern standard while retaining the period character both indoors and outdoors," says ÖBO's Construction Project Manager Sofi Gyllkvist.

"We’re very pleased to have been entrusted with carrying out this extensive renovation. By renovating both inside and outside we ensure that these buildings will be attractive and sustainable homes for many years to come," says Nils Staffansson, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract and will start in the autumn of 2025. It is expected to take approximately 18 months to complete.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2025.
