Peab builds apartments in Kalmar

Peab has been commissioned to build 72 rental apartments in Kalmar. The customer is PPE Fastigheter and the contract is worth SEK 112 million.

Peab will build two tower blocks in the Linnéstaden district of Kalmar. The buildings will be nine floors with a total of 72 rental apartments. The frame will consist of prefabricated concrete and the concrete facade will be painted.

Peab has previously built 162 rental apartments, 44 tenant-owner apartments, a parking garage and a nursing home that includes 60 rooms in Linnéstaden. Six civil defense shelters were also built in connection with these projects.

"We’re really pleased that we can continue to develop Linnéstaden. Through our previous experience in the area and our good cooperation with PPE Fastigheter, we’re well equipped to succeed with the project. We look forward to contributing with sustainable and well-planned homes for the inhabitants of Kalmar," says Anders Bergeling, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract partnership. Work will start in November and is expected to be completed in April 2027.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2025.
