Peab builds new main pipelines between Ramundberget and Bruksvallarna

Peab has been commissioned to build new main pipes for drinking water and sewage between Ramundberget and Bruksvallarna in Härjedalen. The customer is Vatten och Miljöresurs and the contract is worth SEK 100 million.

The new main pipes are part of a larger expansion of the municipal water and sewage system in Härjedalen. Its purpose is to protect the environment and ensure the health of those who live in the area, as well as increase capacity both for today's needs and to enable the municipality to grow and develop for a long time to come. Peab is working on the project together with Vatten och Miljöresurs to ensure long-term good competence, quality, economics and work environment.

"We’re proud to be involved in creating long-term solutions for water and sewage in Härjedalen. This project will enable us to take care of today's needs and at the same time meet future demands regarding the environment and social development," says Hans Boija, Region Manager Peab.

"Collaboration is a prerequisite for carrying out such a large and complex project and especially ensuring sustainable operations. Working together with Peab  will give us a higher level of expertise in constructability, good insight and management governance while also creating a good dialogue with the relevant stakeholders," says Christian Ferm, Project Owner and Water and Sewage Manager at Vatten och Miljöresurs.

This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 contract whereby Peab is contracted to work with the customer to optimize the project with the right quality and manage risks and uncertainties. The project is now entering phase 2, which entails signing a construction contract.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. The work started with time-critical work in May 2025 and the remaining work will begin in September 2025. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2025.
