Peab renovates school in Kauniainen

Peab has been commissioned to renovate a school in Kauniainen. The customer is the City of Kauniainen and the contract is worth EUR 18 million, which corresponds to 195 million Swedish kronor.

The project includes the complete renovation of the Kasavuori School Complex, including renovating the facades. The project also includes the demolition of certain building components and the construction of new buildings with a gross floor area of almost 5,000 m2. The total area of the school complex after the expansion will be just over 10,000 m2. The school has been rebuilt several times between 1966 and 2015.

The school complex houses a middle school, a high school and a school kitchen and nearly 800 students and 80 employees. The school will continue to function throughout the renovation.

"We’re proud of this new project that is one of many school construction projects we’re working on. Our extensive experience is a guarantee for good results as well as safe and smooth daily operation of the school during the construction period," says Ilkka Laakeristo, Region Manager Peab Finland.

Construction will begin in April 2026 and is expected to be completed in January 2029.

The project will be order registered in business area Construction in the second quarter 2026.
