Peab builds hospital buildings in Lund

Peab has been commissioned to rebuild and extend the hospital buildings for neonatal care, women's health care, obstetrics and infectious disease care at Skåne University Hospital in Lund. The customer is Region Skåne, Regionfastigheter and the contract is worth SEK 556 million.

The project comprises the renovation of existing healthcare buildings for the various operations in the Lund Hospital area. The extension of the neonatal unit provides ten new intensive care rooms and an integrated parental area with its own entrance. Emergency services in women's healthcare will be relocated together on the ground floor and the gynecology clinic will be renovated. For infectious diseases, the extension means modern isolation rooms with a separate entrance, larger reception area and separate areas for planned and emergency care.

The total building area amounts to 8,100 m2 and the extensions will be certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.

"We’re proud to build environments for some of healthcare's most sensitive patient groups. The project requires careful planning and coordination which, with our local resources and expertise, we can accomplish. This is a vital project and we look forward to taking it on," says Marcus Emanuel, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Production has begun and is expected to be completed in 2029.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2026.
