Peab renovates rental apartments in Helsinki

Peab has been commissioned to carry out an extensive renovation of rental apartments for Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy (HEKA) in Pihlajisto in Helsinki. The contract is worth EUR 13 million.

The project is the second stage of a major renovation project and entails renovating four apartment buildings with their inner courtyards from 1972. A total of 166 apartments will be renovated as well as common areas like basements and saunas, and what was previously an assisted living facility will be turned into new apartments and a laundry room. The focus of the project is to increase security and accessibility for residents as well as improve the buildings’ energy efficiency.

“It’s great that we can now carry out our fourth renovation project for HEKA and continue our smooth collaboration in this second stage. The renovation will be a huge lift for the residents of Pihlajisto,” says Marko Rinkinen, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction starts in August 2022 and the project is expected to be completed in April 2024.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2022.
