Peab builds homes in Helsinki

Peab has been commissioned to build two apartment buildings and a parking garage in Verkkosaari in Helsinki. The customer is Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy and the contract is worth EUR 15 million.

The project, HEKA Pilkkikuja 2, comprises construction of two apartment buildings with six respective seven floors and a parking garage on ground level. All in all Peab will build 65 apartments, a commercial unit and 26 parking spaces. There will also be an inner courtyard on top of the garage and a little square between the two buildings.

The buildings will be heated by geothermic energy, which is energy efficient, economic and reduces carbon emissions.

“This project is a great continuation of the project we started in Verkkosaari this summer and gives us the opportunity to intensify our collaboration. We’re also glad we can contribute to more housing in Verkkosaari,” says Ilkka Laakeristo, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction starts in October 2023 and the project is expected to be completed in June 2025.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2023.
