Peab has been commissioned to build 191 apartments, offices and a garage in Jönköping. The rental apartment customer is Brandtornet AB and the office building customer is Hamhus AB and the total contract amount is SEK 368 million.

The project comprises two connected buildings, a courtyard and a large, shared underground garage on the new block Grävlingen in central Jönköping. The block will consist of a new apartment building with 191 one to three rooms and a kitchen rental apartments as well as a new office building with around 6,000 m2 rentable space allocated on six floors. The facades will primarily be in brick. Both buildings will have roof terraces and be built according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.

The construction site is located in the western part of Jönköping close to Jönköping University, and is currently occupied by some 150 parking spaces.

“We’re pleased and proud to be entrusted with realizing Brandtornet’s och Hamhus’ construction on one of the best locations in Jönköping. The project is right in line with our ambition to work locally and offer our customers a locally produced product,” says Anders Bergeling, Region Manager Peab.

“We’re convinced that Jönköping with its unique location will continue to grow. To be part of this development of Jönköping and create new rental apartments feels incredibly stimulating,” says Joachim Nilforsen, MD of Brandtornet AB.

“We look forward to being able to offer newly built, high quality offices in a fantastic location in central Jönköping close to Jönköping University,” says Simon Harrius, MD of Hamhus AB.

Peab’s project is a turnkey contract and will start in December 2024. Jönköping Municipality will first decontaminate the site, starting sometime before the summer of 2024. The project is expected to be completed in May 2028.
